This is one of the most commonly asked theories: WTF happened to Pop's wife/Cub's Mum. (I live in England so I spell Mum differently can we please get back on the topic?) Now, as all you users know, Kenn Navarro confirmed that she died on Twitter. Which leaves two questions: how did she die and why is her death permanent?
I'm going to post a theory i read on the website TV Tropes, since this seems like a plausible theory, but feel free to write your own theory below. I'm actually gonna post a few more theories below:

Pop's wife and Cub's mother. The trope Mama Bear is named that for a good reason. None of the characters who come back to life after each episode have done any Heroic Sacrifices yet. In other words, there's a possibility that the reason she never comes back is because she died for somebody else's sake.
That may be shorter than what you were expecting, so I'll post some alternate theories I found too.
The death of Cub's mom/Pop's wife is what starts the string of deaths in every time loop.
It makes sense considering that, if the hints are to be believed and she is truly dead, she's the only character who stays that way. The reason the Happy Tree Friends are doomed to suffer and die again and again is because Pop always fails to save her. Pop's wife died in the same accident that Handy lost his hands in, which would explain why he always appears as an amputee even when worse injuries to other characters seem to have no lasting effect.
Pop's wife/ Cub's mom almost always finds the idol and gets killed by it.The exception is Idol Curiosity, which is the only time so far where it has showed up in a place that made sense.
Cub's mother/Pop's wife made a Deal with the Devil.She sold her soul to make sure her son and husband (as well as the rest of the cast) always comeBack from the Dead.

Cub controls the time loops.He travels through the time-space continuum indefinitely, trying to find a world where his father is not a bumbling moron and his mother is still alive, and he must start over again every time Pop gets him killed/somebody else dies.
