- If Crazy Antics doesn't count, where Sniffles' death was caused by the Ants, this is the first episode in which a main character is actually killed by an animal that is not a main character. It is also the first episode where a character is killed by a non-anthropomorphic animal.
- Flaky is the first character in the show to break the fourth wall, as she nervously laughs to the viewers after she fails to save Cuddles in time.

- According to the Happy Tree Friends staff, this was one of their favorite episode to make, because according to them, "...we were able to get Rhode to actually act out how a whale breaches out of the water. He got so into it and we got him to do it so many times! We were all laughing SOOOO hard. It was great."
